Overview:
The Division Building Information Modeling (BIM) Manager is responsible for the overall management, direction and implementation of McCarthy’s BIM Process on projects within a Division. The Division BIM Manager has the responsibility to accurately and fully inform management of each project’s overall BIM efforts, including potential liabilities and/or concerns. This individual will report to the Division Quality Director and will work closely with and take direction on corporate programs and overall company strategy from the Corporate Construction Modeling Manager. This individual will also participate in the National BIM Task Force Group, focused on development of company BIM processes, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
o Responsible for aiding project personnel in the implementation of the BIM Program Activities on their projects through pro-active training, support and examples.
o Development and Enforcement of the Divisional BIM Program
o Assess Project Team (designers, McCarthy, and sub-trades) capabilities to determine appropriate BIM implementation plan for specific project
o Support BIM implementation opportunities in the Pre-construction phase of a Project
o Participate in the Development of Corporate BIM Goals
o Accomplish Periodic Site Audits
o Maintain an accurate and current database of BIM implementation at each project within the Division
o Maintain, Evaluate and Report BIM/Quality Metrics
o Verify Implementation of Site Specific BIM implementation Plans
o Present BIM training at various Division training opportunities such as Project Manager Training, Project Superintendent Training and Management Development Program Training.
o Periodic Reporting
o Monthly - Division Project Quality Status Matrix
o Quarterly – Update Project BIM database (including project-specific benefits associated with BIM implementation)
o End-of-Project - Value Added Summary
o Promote Good Relations with Risk Management/Legal
o Quarterly Office Meetings to Review Claims
o Joint Jobsite Visits When Appropriate
o Quarterly Avoided Issue Value Discussion (what issues were avoided due to implementation of the BIM Program)
o Promote Good Relations with Key Owners/Architects/Engineers (one per month)
o Discuss BIM “lessons learned” and Verify/Confirm Concurrence
o Avoided Issue Value Discussion - Focusing Upon the Value the Key Owner/Architect/Engineer Received in Their Terms
o Review Claims & Latent Defects (as opportunities for early detection using BIM)
o Building Enclosure
o Mechanical Systems
o Lessons Learned - Update Knowledge Base
o Monitor and Report Incentive Program
o Maintain and Monitor Best Practices Database and Technical Expert Listing

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
o Good verbal and written communication
o Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings

o Building construction sequencing
o Construction Estimating
o Implementation of Focused Initiatives
o Focus on Key Quality Process Characteristics (Define the End Goal, Work Done Right the First Time, Each Individual is Responsible for Quality, Verification - Not Inspection, Long-Term Focus and Improved Quality Results in Lower Costs)
o Not Focused on Just Completing Checklists or Writing Plans
o Understanding of building design, construction and operations
o Understanding of CPM scheduling
o Understanding of Pre-construction services
o Hands-on field experience in construction
o Enjoys training others
o Team builder
o Good computer skills including proficiency in software programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, Navisworks Jetstream, AutoCAD, etc.)
o 10 plus years in commercial construction working for a General Contractor
o BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural Engineering required--MS preferred
o Specific technical expertise with BIM systems is required, because the initial focus of BIM Program will be Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Piping Systems. The BIM Manager will be expected to become an internal expert and resource on the Systems making up the construction of a building.
